Information for Students

All tutoring appointments take place remotely via MS Teams, with each appointment typically lasting one hour. The time is yours, so you will be free to set your own priorities, work on whatever is most important to you or bring questions or concerns about your academic work to discuss.

If you wish to share documents with me during appointments, this can be done if you share your screen with me, or email documents to me. You are welcome to email documents in advance, but please be aware that I may not have the chance to read them before the appointment begins.

Whilst it is expected that students will usually have materials that will be used to provide a focus for the appointments, for example assignment briefs, essay plans or any drafts they are working on, you are not obliged to bring these things. I will also certainly not send you away if you haven’t done what you told me you were going to do! As long as you are willing to have a conversation with me during each appointment about your academic work and your progress, I will be able to guide you in setting and/or reviewing priorities and ensuring that you find each appointment useful.

Although it is not essential for you to tell me in advance what you would like to work on in the next appointment, if you know you want to work on developing a specific study skill, please let me know so that I can prepare as much as possible for the appointment.

For further information, please see the Student Agreement.

If you are self-funding, the cost of tuition is payable in advance by debit or credit card. Please call 07395 207 531 to book and make a payment.
