I am an experienced specialist study skills support tutor, having worked extensively with students at many higher education institutions, including Nottingham Trent University. The Covid pandemic necessitated the adoption of remote ways of working; I am, therefore, adept in the use of Microsoft Teams as a method for delivering specialist study skills support. Nova Tuition is listed on the NMH register and I offer remote support via Teams, being exempt from offering face-to-face support.

Offering remote specialist study skills support to students, and working independently, gives me the opportunity to offer students flexibility regarding appointment availability that, in my experience, tutors employed by large organisations are unable to provide. This places me in an ideal position to work with students with busy lifestyles, most notably those on work-placements or those with caring responsibilities or those juggling study with the commitment of paid employment.

Having been employed by Nottingham Trent University, I am fully aware of the need to give students as much support as possible in relation to remembering and attending their appointments. In addition to sending meeting invites via Teams, I have also established a system of sending appointment reminders to students to minimise non-attendance.
